To enable comprehensive recording of user related parameters, including gaze tracking, cardiovascular variables, electrophysiological variables, and activity measurements with fully mobile subjects. This will provide the necessary basis for a breakthrough in cognitive, social, and usability related research, liberating them from the confines of laboratory. The project will build a fundamentally new basic research instrument, a robust and lightweight wide angle gaze tracking device, where both the users’ position and orientation in the world and the gaze direction are tracked with high spatial and temporal accuracy. By also recording the behaviour and actions of the user with multiple cameras and microphones, and physiological data for estimating the state of the user, the system strives towards a mobile observation platform in a holistic manner. The Ganzheit observation system is applied to selected cases to demonstrate its possibilities and to establish new directions in field experimentation.
