My interests focus on our interrelations with and via technology, with a particular focus on digital camera technologies. The aim of my research is to understand and communicate social implications of technical solutions. The ways in which we create techniques and technologies matter – although how exactly is not always straightforward. In my understanding technical solutions tell us about social relations, and social relations are always maintained with techniques and technologies.

I have a background in social sciences (M.A. in cultural anthropology, PhD work under review in media studies), and enjoy my work with colleagues that often have different educations than my own, such as computer science or legal studies. My publications reflect both my background as social scientist, and joint efforts with diverse colleagues.
