MIXSIG

MIXSIG
HIIT Music Interaction Special Interest Group

MIXSIG presents a new type of collaboration within HIIT. It brings together researchers with expertise from various backgrounds with a common interest:
digital music

MIXSIG
Is not a single project
Is not a traditional research group

MIXSIG unites tacit knowledge and methodological competence from several disciplines

MIXSIG has some main challenges that influence our selection of research questions:

  • What music?
  • How music?

Given that "how (we acquire)" music issue is settled HOW do we select the music we want? Can abandon the old music interface concepts to provide a new types of musical experiences?

MIXSIG
Spans several existing research groups:
Ubiquitous interaction (UIx)
Adaptive computing (AC)
Digital content communities (DCC)
Empirical law & economy (ELE)

MIXSIG is presently related to following activities:
Musiquitous (2009-2012) @UIX
EMOKEITAI (2009-2011) @DCC
• DCM, Laila (2008-2010) @ELE
• Cappella@AC
