Sami Vihavainen, D.Sc. (Tech.)

I'm currently a researcher at Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT and a member of Digital Content Communities (DCC) research group. I received my doctorate (Tech.) in Human-Computer Interaction from Tampere University of Technology in 2013. My doctoral thesis concentrated on studying user's interaction with automation in context-aware social applications. During 2007-2008 I spent 1,5 years as a visiting scholar at University of California Berkeley/School of Information.
 
Interests: HCI, user experience design, human factors, context-aware computing, ubiquitous computing, mobile media, social aspects of information, privacy, cross-use of digital and print media, innovation.
