Tue, 19.04.2011

An information retrieval method for augmented reality developed in Aalto University has been featured in news broadcasts on Russian Vesti and German RTL TV networks. The system uses context and gaze direction to infer what the viewer is interested in. Relevant information is displayed on data glasses.

The research has been covered also in Financial Times Deutchland, in Stern, by YLE, and in Hufvudstadsbladet.

The research was funded by Aalto University's MIDE research programme. The prototype system is based on a gaze tracker and data glasses equipment developed by Nokia Research Center.
