Tue, 15.09.2009

15 Sep 2009 - The Probabilistic Adaptive Systems (PAS) programme has been changed to Algoritmic Systems (AS). The new research programme studies theory and practice of modelling, design and management of complex systems.

Professors Pekka Orponen and Ilkka Niemelä of TKK have joined this programme. As part of these changes also some transfers have taken place among existing groups: The groups of Professors Sami Kaski and Aapo Hyvärinen are now completely in the ADA programme and the group of Chief Research Scientist Patrik Floréen is now completely in the AS programme.

In addition, a small group led by Petteri Kaski has been founded to study new computational methods and applications and to give theoretical support to the HIIT research programmes. The group works in collaboration with the ICS department of TKK.
