The group's work is based on a human-centred perspective on security, trust and privacy in the Internet. In usable security, users can understand the security and are able to have an active part in controlling their security and privacy online. Trust emerges from this ability and forms the basis for succesful interactions in online activities. This ability is heavily influenced by the difference between a poor user interface and a good one.

Project statement:

First we will develop 4-6 research prototypes and then we will do thorough experimentations with them. These experiments will expand our understanding on the emerging domain of biosignal adaptive social applications.

Research goals:

Advanced Virtual Economy Applications (AVEA) is a research project focusing on new approaches to so-called “virtual property”, artificially scarce digital objects that have rapidly become a viable business model for software products and online services, and especially gained prominence in e.g. massively multiplayer online games.
