Generative models that discover dependencies between data sets

HIIT researcher Antti Leino will present his doctoral thesis On Toponymic Constructions as an Alternative to Naming Patters in Describing Finnish Lake Names in the main building of the University of Helsinki at 12 o'clock noon. The official opponent is doc. Staffan Nyström from University of Stockholm and custos professor Tapani Lehtinen.

HIIT has changed its organisation beginning from 1 January 2007. HIIT now has four Research Programmes to which all projects and/or researchers belong under  the Research Programme Directors. In addition, each research programme has a Research Manager helping in coordinating the programme. Martti will tell us more about the organisation.
