eduroam authentication using HIIT credentials has been possible since 2008-10-20T15:21:26. At that time there was no other way to provide eduroam access to all hiiters except for HIIT to join to FUNET WLAN roaming and eduroam. Now times have changed and the world with it and nowadays both HIIT's mother universities, Aalto university and University of Helsinki, provide eduroam connectivity to their users. Due to all hiiters thus getting eduroam connectivity from their employers HIIT will shut down its eduroam authentication service.

Michalis.hiit.fi crashed due to computing processes taking all available memory. Server was rebooted and is now up and running.

Focus.hiit.fi crashed and we still investigation reasons for that. As a precaution we installed new firmwares to server.

Update at 16:06 by Markus Nuorento: Focus is now up and running normally. We are still investigating reason for crash.

Ugluk.hiit.fi server crashed and we are investigating reasons for that as a precaution we are also updating firmwares.

Update at 17:12 by Pekka Tonteri: Ugluk's connection to SAN fabric 2 messes things up for some reason. It's a verified bug at least by RedHat. Further measures to fix the issue will be done tomorrow. Until then Ugluk is connected to SAN with just one fibre channel port. This configuration change does not affect performance, it just reduces redundancy on SAN connectivity.

Hand.hiit.fi project server is firewalled from outside internet on August 31th 2015 and will be shut down permanently on September 30th 2015.

Users should move applications and data away from server before scheduled shut down.
