Tietotekniikan tutkimuslaitos HIIT (Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT) on Helsingin yliopiston ja Aalto-yliopiston yhteinen tietotekniikan tutkimuslaitos. Se tekee kansainvälisesti huipputasoista tietotekniikan perus- ja soveltavaa tutkimusta sekä edistää tietoteollisuuden kilpailukykyä liittämällä yliopistoissa tapahtuvaa suomalaista tutkimusta teollisuuden innovaatioketjuun. Tutkimuslaitoksen tehtäviin kuuluu myös monitieteinen yhteistyö eri tutkimusalojen kanssa yliopistoissa ja tutkimuslaitoksissa.

The Future Internet Graduate School (FIGS) is a doctoral programme funded by the Academy of Finland for the period 1.1.2010-31.12.2013. It is a joint venture of Aalto University, University of Helsinki, and Tampere University of Technology. The Director of FIGS is professor Martti Mäntylä from Aalto University.

In this call, Hecse is offering 2 funded PhD positions. In addition, adjunct positions (without funding) may be offered.

Applications

HIIT conducts basic and strategic research on information technology. It is a joint research institute of Aalto University and the University of Helsinki.

In the recent Research Assessment Exercise covering all the 46 units of Aalto University, HIIT got excellent reveiews and was among the top units that were rewarded as result of the exercise.

HIIT now calls for applications for postdoctoral and senior researchers.

The positions will be filled for three years maximum starting at the earliest 1 August 2010.

A postdoctoral researcher is being recruited for a research project belonging to the Data Security workpackage of the national Future Internet initiative. The target of the project is to build a novel host-based malware-detection system based on general anomaly detection principles, in collaboration with our industrial partners.
