Description: 

The remaining web sites on the old server will be moved to the new server and the new web server will be rebooted.

The following sites will be read-only during the transfer:

  • musiq.hiit.fi
  • fics.hiit.fi
  • figs.hiit.fi

The rest of the sites will be down during the reboot only.

Update at 09:32: The reboot was done. The above listed sites are still read-only until the DNS gets updated. Break extended by 1 hour.

Update at 10:55: The break is over.

Arto Klami receives the Dissertation award of the Finnish artificial intelligence society

PhD Arto Klami receives the Dissertation award of the Finnish artificial intelligence society (years 2008-2011) for this PhD thesis Modeling of mutual dependencies, and gives a presentation on the topic in the Federated Computer Science Event on May 28th.

Scalable Networks

The programme aims to work on the design, analysis and evaluation of extremely large-scale networked systems.

This is a new research programme which will start its operation during 2012. The programme will have two spearhead activities: a holistic view on energy efficiency, and new programming paradigms for massively scalable networks.

Description: 

Sites affected were up and running but may have suffered from lessened functionality and/or malformed visual appearance for a short time after moving HIIT hosted sites to a new server.

The sites that were affected are:

  • amoveo.hiit.fi
  • betelgeuse.hiit.fi
  • cosco.hiit.fi
  • packages.hiit.fi
  • pgm2010.hiit.fi (redirected from www.helsinki.fi/pgm2010/)
  • witmse2011.hiit.fi (redirected from www.helsinki.fi/witmse2011/)
  • www.futureinternet.fi (also www.future-internet.fi)
  • www.mdl-research.org

On these sites the following erroneus configurations were fixed

  • Server Side Includes were not enabled for .shtml files and html files with execute bit on (XBitHack).
  • Directory listings were enabled by default. The old behaviour of disallowing directory listing by default has been restored.
